Labour Market Information

Data Designed for People

The Government of Alberta needed a trusted way to provide labour market information (such as unemployment rates and job growth reports) that citizens could rely on to understand the current and future state of work across the province. Previous efforts had fallen short, leaving gaps in accessibility, accuracy, and usability of the data, so they brought together a team, including J5 designers, to ensure Albertans had clear, reliable insights to guide career, business, and policy decisions.

WHY IT MATTERS

Without clear, reliable labour market information, Albertans risk making career, business, and policy decisions in the dark. By getting it right, the Government of Alberta can empower evidence-based choices, strengthen programs and services, and ensure supports are responsive to the real needs of people across the province. Now launched to the public, the new labour market information system transforms how Albertans access data, making it not only accurate and comprehensive but also actionable.
